Here we are on the second day of blog week and I am sending in my article late because ndi working class. I gorra finish my work though I am not done my mind needed a break from files and tracking sheets.
Henewe! It’s a political week we are in, there will be voting and later chest thumping for who is the most liked of them all. There will be rigging claims and no evidence since our lugambolizing smart phones were ordered away from the voting site and of course the fear of something escalating into what we all don’t know since we have red top (military police) scattered all over the city and the outskirts to quell whatever kavuyo people come up with.
I am too cool to be afraid, how do they hear that mbu Evelyn was not woman enough to go to work and earn her shillings just because people are threatening to burn tyres and throw them all over the streets fwaaaa.. HOWLY? I have to step into the office like a big wig and walk through the fiery streets like Rambo did for years in Vietnam. Museveni yaleeta eddembe so no need for fear.
I am too cool to just talk about politics on social media and not vote on Thursday, way cooler than your average human being. I have to go vote and show off that ink stained thumb on instagram to the rest of the world, remind them that I have a right to exercise my civic duty (now i sound kinda legit using this statement). I saw my salary after PAYE and wept, the fire in my gut ignited itself and now I am itching to throw votes at my candidate because he said some political mambo jambo that rather made sense to me.
This Mugisu feels its time, as a muvubuka in Uganda to show everyone that we are not all about talk. It might seem that way, but we actually don’t just talk now, we act on our words. My fellow citizens of cool town, check your voter’s details and make sure you are liable to vote this Thursday, no one should tell you that you need a yellow bag to select a certain citizen, cool people don’t sell votes. Go and be the coolest of them all by not loitering on social media with a lot of noise yet you are among the ones who will be seated at home while the rest pf us are part of the process.
Be Cool, Ggenda ovotinge!
