The feeling you get when you start on a new journey can be overwhelming, you recite so many mantras when taking that first step that someone who can read your mind will think you are working on a new Buddhist chant. Maybe, it’s just me, I am always scared. Like right now, I am currently scared that I am going to screw up for a bunch of people looking at me to make good decisions. I have a well tracked record of screwing up like every other normal human being.
Mantras, self help books and all the rest of them can actually help but it’s always up to you to make the decision not to be afraid all the time. To know that even if you fail, there’s a chance to do it over and over again till you run out of breath. Although, if you have been doing it several times and you have been failing, maybe it’s time to take a look at the methods you are using to achieve your goals.
Some of you live in a well manicured lawn with picture perfect weather kind of mindset. For the rest of us, our minds are like a chapter in batman’s world. You have your own demons but the saviour complex won’t let you be in peace, so you willingly carry on other demons off those around you because “why not?”
Willingly walking to a cliff edge and tumbling down with a smile because you know it is your entire fault. In the words of my Mugisu sister Beyonce Khatoko, “Who is there to save the hero, when she’s left all alone and she’s crying out for help?”
